Royal Poppet

In my story, the doll (pictured here next to her purse) was carried for good luck and is actually a poppet used to force me to do favors for the royal family.

We were tricked into keeping a connection with those humans who took positions of power from us and would stand as the sacrifices when others arrived on the planet again as only humans faced sacrifice and the royalty would offer themselves as worthy of the alien visitors.

Only later we learned they had no intention of upholding this and some aided in our kinds being hunted.

Mine was a long-fought freedom from them. Those poppets are now powerless and have no connection to us.
