Double-Headed Eagle

One of my interests in the study of signs, emblems, and symbolism is the evolution and migration of the motifs and their relation to tribes, people, and conflict. In the course of history, many symbols have been erroneously attributed to various groups either in error or as a way to shield the true identity of various tribes and groups responsible for hunting the serpent lines.

So here you have a battle over the true gods on earth or god’s true people. Was it the eagles or the serpents? And does one assume the eagles because of the connotation with angels? Are they correct? Perhaps both were wrong? Or they were two completely different tribes of supernatural/gifted beings versus humans?
