Phelan

One of my great-great-grandmothers was named Ethyl Phelan Fortune Cain.

An entry on an ancestry site has one meaning.

But there is a deeper meaning also.
For additional information, you will also want to see my mythology page on the KilSpel Family.

And how does this tie to any of the other myths? Phelan also means “joyful little wolf” and Joy has ties to my Angelic name (Jophiel).

So Ne/Phelim (nephilim) are those that are not beautiful, joyful, or good. This may be hybrid children between humans and the original divine beings (hybrids), giants, or simply humans. It may also mean not wolves or not of the wolf.
