Hala Fruit

The word, “hala” is also related to the pine tree-specifically the Hala Fruit tree. But there is an interesting note about the definition of Hala.

I am not of the opinion that the lei and hula dance were harmless entertainment for tourists. The hypnotic sway of the hula is used in other cultures as a way to summon spirits-particularly if combined with drums. The lei was made with parts of a plant that intended ill will.
