Djinn in Popular Culture

Of note in the next section is the the power of the Djinn is known as Afrit. This is likely part of the root for Aphrodite/Afridite as it might have been spelled Afridite or Afritite. In fact a variation, Afrita could have been the basis for the name Africa.

It is often said among our kind that the vampyre and werewolf are of the djinn and that center of that connection is Aphrodite.

We see this connection also in words associated with djinn, like “ghoul” and “shayatin.”
