As with Eris in Greek Mythology, the God Hodr only appears once and that is in relation to the death of Baldur. Both Hodr and Loki are the brothers of Baldur. Baldur is the son of Odin and Frigg.

Could this have been the death of a child (much like Jesus-a bright and shining god) not by the actual wood of the mistletoe but by magic as a sacrifice to the oak or to the magicians (Druids)?
