Mave (Maeve/Maeven/Mavis) is tied to Mave Roe (Red Mary/Bloody Mary). Remember the term “bloody” has a different meaning in England, but with so many families claiming the banshee as theirs, her reputation would have been more like a valkyrie or agent of death. Her last name should give some indication of the family who actually had the fairy woman.

She is also known as Nenie Roe–which might be relared to nani. My maternal family call our grandmothers nani.
