Lands of NoWere

Many countries have shapeshifters, but not all are werewolves. Strangely, those countries that do not have the typical werewolf lore are often a natural home to pythons-Australia, SE Asia, and Africa.

The Irrinja of Australia almost sound like an embodiment or conjure of the Djinn.

And in the legends of the Ainu of Japan, we see references to a “lady” who may have mated with a “wolf-like creature” (also sometimes referred to as a dog. It is interesting that there are legends relating to wolves or dogs as they are known to worship the bear.
