Ainu & Wolves

I have read several accounts of the Ainu retelling their origin story of a wolf-like creature mating with a goddess to create them. The goddess remains unnamed and the wolf is sometimes referred to as a dog. These accounts, particularly when coupled with Ainu bear worship, casts doubt on these stories.
